Senior Massage is a safe, affordable, and greatly beneficial in multiple facets, and for this reason, I find it very rewarding to serve the senior population. Many of our seniors in independent facilities, assisted living, and as memory care: suffer from loneliness and lack of physical caring touch. When we are touched, endorphins are stimulated, and this makes us feel cared for, connected, happy, and the body heals more naturally.
Physically, there are innumerous benefits including, increased circullation (both lymph and blood), balancing of the metabolism, increase range of motion, joint flexibility (activates synovial fluid), improved posture and coordination, relieves tension and pain. These improvements can lead to enhanced sleep, (this is when the body heals and restores), better brain function, better respiration, improved immune system, and overall good health.
